What is the Strait of Hormuz, and why it is so important to the global oil market?

President Trump piled up the sanctions on Iran, according to military officials said, the country downed an unmanned U.S. drone last week. The US response comes after the White house and the Pentagon-in the face of military strikes against the regime – but they cried out, as soon as Trump learned up to 150 Iranians killed could be.

The United States ended waivers that allow other countries to import Iranian oil, to a reduction in its oil exports to zero and put the regime under unprecedented economic pressure. Countries that have been granted waivers, such as China, Japan, India, and others, would be the U.S. sanctions, if they continue to import oil from Iran.

5. May

White House national security adviser John Bolton announced that the US was the deployment of a U.S. aircraft carrier strike group and a bomber task force in the Middle East the following “clear evidence” that Iran and the Iranian proxy forces in preparation for a possible attack on the American troops in the region.

Bolton reaffirmed that the United States is not trying to war with Iran, “but we are fully prepared for any attack, whether by proxy, the Islamic Revolutionary guard Corps, or the regular Iranian armed forces.”

The Trump administration pressed Iran with additional sanctions on the steel -, Aluminium -, copper-and iron-industry.

Tehran announced its withdrawal from parts of the 2015 nuclear deal, if it was not for the economic relief and to enrich its uranium stockpile closer to the weapons level in 60 days.

Trump announced that an additional 1,500 troops to the Middle East amid growing tensions with Iran. He said that the troops were to serve, in a “most protective” role.

Two oil tankers were attacked in the Gulf of Oman near the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Secretary of state Mike Pompeo accused Iran for what he called a “blatant attack.” Iran denied any involvement in the attacks and accused Washington blatantly a “Iranophobic campaign of” economic warfare.

“Iran stands ready to play an active and constructive role in ensuring the security of strategic Maritime passages, as well as the promotion of peace, stability and security in the region,” Iran ‘ s answered U. n. Mission in a statement at the time.

17. June

Iran announced that it had agreed to be 10 days away from crossing the low-enriched uranium stock limit, in 2015, the nuke deal.

Fox News has confirmed the U.S. military, a cyberattack against Iran on 20. June, after the Downing of the American drone. Sources said, the U.S. Cyber Command launched, the cyberattack orientation of the Iranian used intelligence and radar systems, going down to the U.S. Navy drone.
