Two women from Michigan correctional officers has been found dead in house: police

Police in Michigan are investigating after two female correctional officers were on Friday found dead in their home near Kingsley.

The body of Tara, Kelley, 53, and Angelina Winn, 49, was discovered sometime last Friday morning at a home in Paradise Township, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office has no details about the death, but noted that the investigation was “ongoing” and that there was no immediate threat to the public.”

The sheriff’s office did not immediately return Fox News’ request for comment early Saturday.

The casualties were identified as military officers at the Oaks Correctional Facility in Manistee County. She previously worked at the Pugsley Correctional Facility in Kingsley, prior to 2016.

In an e-mail to employees obtained by the Free Press, the state’s Corrections Director, Heidi Washington, called on the women to “valued members” who will be “missed by so many.”

“Please keep the family and co-workers of these employees in your thoughts and prayers,” she said. “It is during difficult times that it is by the MDOC, the family trust is just as important.”

Kelly has been with the department for 19 years. Eco-friendly 20 years on the job.
