The brothers were not to expect their babies to be born on the same day.
Two brothers in Michigan was an unexpected surprise on Tuesday, when both of their women give birth on the same day.
Joshua Thorington and his wife, Denise, welcomed a boy named Jack, 4:18 pm, 27 March. But an hour later, WPBN reported, Justin Thorington and his wife, Alex, came out at the same hospital, Munson Medical Center in Traverse City — because she was in labor.
At first, Joshua and Denise were not aware Alex was in labor. Joshua told WPBN that he thought it was “a bit strange” that his brother and sister-in-law did not come to see his new son.
“[Justin’s] like, ‘Hey, we’ll come see you, but so you know, Alex is in labor. And you are the only ones who know, so don’t tell’,” said Joshua.
“I don’t think they want to steal our thunder, but we didn’t care,” he added.
Just before midnight on the same day, Alex gave birth to a baby girl named Lucy. Alex told the news station that she was excited, she and Denise gave birth on the same day, adding that “it was a beautiful way to connect us a little bit more.”
“It was kind of destined to be,” Joshua added.
In the first instance, the babies were about two weeks apart, WPBN reported. Both families are delighted that the cousins will have the same birthday.
“I’m sure you have lots of fun birthday bashes together,” Joshua said. “Hopefully she is as close as Justin and I were.”
The Thorington family was not immediately available for additional comment when contacted by Fox News.
