Two men who were arrested after the murder of investigative journalist Lyra Mckee during riots in Northern Ireland are Sunday night without charge released, reports the Northern Irish police. The men are not prosecuted.
The 29-year-old Mckee was Thursday night shot dead during riots in the city of Londonderry.
According to the police shot a man on agents that a search performed in the catholic neighborhood of Creggan. The journalist, however, the bullets hit. She died shortly after arrival at the hospital. The police considers the incident as a terrorist act.
In that neighborhood was the whole evening already restless. The police were pelted with stones, bottles and fireworks. Also, some vehicles on fire.
The police suspect that the perpetrators are members of the Real Irish Republican Army, a group who fights for the reunification of Ireland.
