Twitter’s plans for the construction of a decentralized standard for social networks

(Reuters) – Twitter Inc. plans to set up an independent research group to be an open and decentralized standard” for social media and social networks, as a model for the micro-blogging platform and want to participate in the Chief Executive Officer, Jack Dorsey, said on Wednesday.

Centralized solutions will struggle to meet the many new challenges facing social networking sites, including a large-scale, content moderation, Dorsey said, adding that the new standard will not be owned by a single private corporation.

“Central to the enforcement of the global policy to tackle the abuse and misleading information, it is unlikely that the scale of the long-term without placing too much burden on the people,” he tweeted on here

Twitter’s Chief Technology Officer, Parag Agrawal, it will be at the cost of the hire of a head of the research team, the so-called Bluesky, Dorsey said, while acknowledging that the project would take many years to complete.

Dorsey went on to explain how the blockchain technology can be seen as a model for the decentralization of the host of the content, supervision, and utilization of social media.

“It will allow us to have access to and contribute to a much larger body of the public conversation, our efforts are focused on building an open recommendation algorithms, which facilitate a healthy discussion … ,” he said, describing how the move would be beneficial for Everyone.
