(Reuters) – the Suspicious traffic to a Twitter Inc (TWTR.N) user forum seems to be part of a government sponsored activity comes from China and Saudi Arabia, a Twitter spokesperson told Reuters via e-mail on Monday.

The company does not know the reason for the activity, but notified users earlier on Monday out of an abundance of caution, the spokesman said.

(This story corrects to show Twitter to say suspicious traffic seems to come from China and Saudi Arabia, not China and Russia)
