Idaho officials have euthanized a snapping turtle in the centre of a probe or a biology teacher fed it to a sick puppy in front of the students.
The Idaho State Department of Agriculture said in a statement Friday that snapping turtles are an invasive species in Idaho for which a licence application. The officials, who allegedly seized the animal from the day before.
An Associated Press report, had the officials of the law enforcement to say they had stepped up security for three schools in the Preston School District in eastern Idaho this week after a number of vague threats related to a claim that the pup was introduced to the turtle earlier this month in the district’s junior high.
Two parents have said the teacher fed the turtle a sick puppy. The teacher’s identity has not been released.
