The 38-year-old former member of the National Guard, was a member of the U.S. House since 2013, after he, as a Hawaii state legislator, told host Tucker Carlson that a war with Iran would encourage the Islamic state and other terrorist groups and expose the American military in the conflict with the very militias the training now.

“So, what we are facing is, in essence, a war of no fronts, total chaos, engulfing the whole region, is not included within the Iran or Iraq, but extend to Syria and Lebanon and Israel in the region, the us in a situation where, in Iraq, we lost over 4,000 of my brothers and sisters in uniform,” said Gabbard. “A war with Iran would be far more American lives it would cost more civilian deaths in the region as a whole.”

Gabbard also said that a US-Iran war would likely be millions of refugees to send to escape to Europe, the further destabilisation of this continent.

“Not to speak of the fact that this would cost trillions of taxpayer dollars coming out of our pockets to go and pay for this endless war, the question is, as a soldier, what are we fighting for? What does the victory look like? What’s the mission?”
