President Trump on Friday approved the Alabama GOP Rep. Martha Roby, said she was “consistent and reliable” supporters of his agenda—in spite of their sharp criticism of him in the weeks leading up to election 2016.

“Congresswoman Martha Roby of Alabama has been a consistent and reliable voice for our Make America Great Again Agenda. She is a Democrat in a Republican Primary run-off against a newer Nancy Pelosi vote. I fully support Martha for Alabama 2. Constituency!” Trump tweeted early Friday.

Roby, R-Ala., was forced into a primary runoff scheduled for July 17, after failing to garner the absolute majority of the votes to beat in the primary earlier this month. Roby, who was elected four times, is facing off against former Democratic Republic of the Bobby Bright. To run bright, who moved once secured Nancy Pelosi for speaker, as a Republican this year.

Some suggested that Roby has struggled in the conservative-leaning district because of her past criticism of Trump. In the year 2016, Roby un-endorsed then-candidate trump card, and said she would not strip for him agree to the publication of the infamous “Access Hollywood”.

“Donald Trump’s behavior does not make him acceptable as a candidate for President, and I will not vote for him,” Roby said in a statement in October 2016. She added: “Hillary Clinton must not be President, but with Trump leading the ticket, you will.”

Trump’s endorsement is noteworthy, considering that he was not ready to look past the criticism of South Carolina REP. Mark Sanford—who lost in last week’s primary to GOP newcomer Katie Arrington, after trump endorsed his rival.

The winner of the GOP primary runoff will face off against Democrats, Tabitha Isner, a first-time candidate. The district, however, is deep red, and whoever wins the primary is expected to win the General in November—the democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is reportedly to tilt a potential seat.
