The executive order addresses not only faults with the campaign, and the choice of infrastructure, but also propaganda efforts. The order will require the Director of National Intelligence, Dan Coats, the regular assessments of possible foreign interference in the elections.
To impose after the reports are completed, the Ministry of Finance and the State departments to decide on appropriate sanctions, to potential players or countries. The order, according to government officials, is broad in terms of who and what can be sanctioned.
