Trump shows that it is ‘excited’ about Belgium during visit
Donald Trump had Wednesday a “message of enthusiasm’ for Belgium. That said, the Belgian prime minister Charles Michel after a “cordial and respectful’ meeting of over an hour with the U.s. president at the royal palace in Brussels.
Trump called the Belgian capital last year, a “hellegat’, when he was not yet president, was elected. “Now there is the president, Donald Trump,” says Michel. “Today I have mostly compliments.”
However, he was aware that Belgium has more money to defence spending. Michel, in turn, made it clear that NATO is not an obsolete organization, as Trump has previously said. “There is a commitment to a strong axis between Europe and the US”, concluded the prime minister further. “We will see in the coming years.”
Meanwhile, ran to a cavalcade of activists by Brussels to demonstrate against the policy of Trump. According to the police, there were nine thousand, the organization kept the ten thousand marchers. The demonstration went according to the police without incident.
