President Trump said on Thursday that the United States should recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the disputed Golan heights, the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Washington next week.
In a tweet on Thursday afternoon, Trump said it is important for the United States of Israel acknowledge control over what he calls an area of “critical strategic and security importance for Israel,” and stability in the region.
“After 52 years, it is time for the United States to complete Israel’s sovereignty recognizes the Golan heights, which is of critical strategic and security importance for the state of Israel and Regional stability.” Trump tweeted.
Trump’s tweet came as Secretary of state, Mike Pompeo was in Jerusalem. Reporters asked Pompeo over the issue, but he refused to answer.

Netanyahu had already recognize Pompeo pressed during his visit to Jerusalem, the Golan heights, as a sovereign part of Israel. The Israeli leader is likely to have the Problem again when he visits Trump in the White house next week. He is also expected to lecture at the annual conference of AIPAC, the pro-Israel Lobby group.
Netanyahu has previously try accused Iran, a terrorist network to target Israel from the Golan heights, which Israel captured from Syria in 1967 in the Six day war.
“In a time when Iran seeks Syria as a platform to destroy Israel, President Trump boldly recognizes the Israeli sovereignty over the Golan heights,” Netanyahu tweeted shortly after Trump’s ‘ tweet’s. “Thank you for President Trump!”
While the United States has tried in the past to remain neutral in the conflict over the Golan heights, the Trump administration has already strengthened relations to Israel on other fronts. In the year 2017, Trump long U.S. policy broke with the decades in Jerusalem and saw the city as the capital of Israel, to describe a current State Department report on human rights continued the tradition and used the term “Israeli-controlled” rather than “Israeli-occupied” Golan heights, the West Bank and Gaza.

Trump, to recognize the call, Israeli sovereignty over the disputed region comes as Republican leaders have ramped up pressure on him to do so.
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S. C., told reporters during a visit earlier this month on the Golan heights, he would recognize the lobby of the Trump administration to the occupied region as belonging to Israel.
“It is not a construct that I can think of now, or any time in the future for the state of Israel, in the Golan,” Graham said, according to Reuters.
The Golan heights is a large plateau, which is located in a disputed area along the border with Syria. It has been occupied by Israel since it was seized from Syria in 1967. Israel claims that the region is a crucial buffer zone between the nation and the conflicts in the Middle East such as Syria eight years of civil war has a time limit in the vicinity of the Golan.
