Trump says that South Carolina Rep. Sanford ‘better in Argentina,’ in favour of a primary Challenger

President Trump tweeted his endorsement of Katie Arrington about three hours before the polls closed in South Carolina.

President Trump urged South Carolina Republicans to vote, U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford out of office Tuesday, tweeted that the three-term Congress was a member of “better in Argentina” – a reference to a sex scandal forced Sanford to resign as Governor.

Sanford, an outspoken Trump-critics, with a tight race against state Rep. Katie Arrington, a relative newcomer in politics.

“I fully support Katie Arrington for Congress in SC, a state I love,” tweeted Trump, who was traveling aboard Air Force One after his summit, the Korean strong man Kim Jong-Un meeting with the North. “She is tough on crime and our fight for lower taxes will continue to be. VOICE Katie!”

However, Trump said that Sanford “has been very helpful for me in my campaign to [Make America Great Again]. He is MIA and nothing but trouble. He is better off in Argentina.”

In June 2009, Sanford from the public disappeared for six days, and later claimed he would be Hiking on the Appalachian Trail. He later confessed that he had travelled in fact to Argentina to meet a woman, with whom he had an extramarital affair.

Sanford was censured by the South Carolina house of representatives, but served the Rest of his second term in office. In 2013, he won a special U.S. house election in South Carolina, 1. The district he previously represented for six years.

Sanford endorsed by Texas Sen. Ted Cruz during the 2016 election campaign. He has repeatedly called on trump to release his tax returns and said that he is not “the “stomach [Trump’s] personal style and his penchant for demeaning others.”

Arrington accused Sanford seeks the limelight and the trump on the agenda. Your campaign is the broadcasting of a TV commercial, referring to Sanford as “Never Trumper” and features video clips of Sanford ‘ s Trump criticism.

“It’s time to turn the page on the Sanford-era,” Arrington told Fox News earlier this week. “We have career politicians. That is why we, the chosen trump suit.”
