Trump says one-China-policy is to respect
The American president Donald Trump Friday in a phone call with Chinese president Xi Jinping confirmed that the United States the one-China policy will continue to respect.
With the phone call wants to be the president of the China tightening, the White House Friday announced.
Trump set for its official inauguration in december even questioned the traditional attitude of American governments that Taiwan is a part of the people’s Republic of China. The Chinese ministry of Foreign Affairs responded at the time concerned.
Trump called when he was not yet officially president was with the Taiwanese president Tsai Ing-wen. It was for the first time since 1979 that there are on this level contact between the United States and Taiwan.
According to the spokesman of Beijing’s one-China policy is the basis for the relationship between Washington and Beijing. The United States were in 1979, the diplomatic relations with Taiwan and knoopten them with the people’s Republic of China.

Also the Chinese president spoke on the state tv positive about the conversation. “I believe that the United States and China, cooperating partners and that we, by joint efforts, our bilateral relations to a historic high level in driving,” said Xi. “China and the United States can absolutely reinforce and moving forward together.”
