President Trump, told reporters that he is a friend and has a lot of respect for the two British politicians of his state visit in June.

President Trump on Thursday said he could meet with pro-British EU exit British politicians, including one with the success of the Prime Minister, Theresa May, when he visits England next week.

Trump told reporters in front of the White house, that he might meet with Nigel Farage, head of the Brexit-y and Fox News contributor, and former foreign Minister, Boris Johnson, who is the current favorite to replace it, May as Conservative party leader and Prime Minister.

“Well, I can,” he said. “Nigel Farage is a friend of mine, Boris is a friend of mine, they are two very good guys, very interesting people.”

May resigned last week over their handling of the Brexit, sparking a leadership race to succeed her. Her resignation came a day after the elections to the European Parliament, where Farage – the UK’s EU-exit party was formed just this year — came in first, almost a third of the votes.

“Nigel had a great victory, he took 32 percent of the vote, nothing, and I think that you I think great power over it, you have done a good job,” Trump said.

Asked whether he he said formally, the support from them: “Well, I like you, you are friends of mine, but I have not thought about it, to support you, maybe it’s not my thing, the support people, but I have a lot of respect for these two men.”

Farage, who is not running from another party, in the Conservative party leadership. Johnson has said he wants to run and is the favorite of many in favour of a “harder” withdrawal from the European Union in October.

Trump will be in the UK from Monday to Wednesday, on the occasion of the 75 anniversary of D-Day, before the trip to France on Thursday to attend a ceremony in Normandy

May is still in the shop, when Trump visited, and step down on 7. June, with a leadership contest at the beginning of a couple of days later. It is by no means clear, what could the race have the support of a candidate of trump on the lead.

Trump has long been friendly with both Farage and Johnson, as well as supportive for the Brexit movement. Johnson, born in New York, last year, said that he “admire, more and more” the US President and that he is more convinced that “there is method in his madness.” Then he asked to introduce his audience that the billionaire, the handling of the Brexit negotiations.

“Imagine, Trump Escape to do,” Johnson said in remarks leaked to BuzzFeed News. “He would go damn hard… There are all kinds of glitches, all kinds of chaos would. Everyone would think he would be crazy. But really you could be anywhere. It is a very, very good idea.”
