Talk-radio-host Robert Patillo and Dom Giordano weigh in on the feud between President Trump and Maryland Democrat Rep. Elijah Cummings.

President Trump said on Monday that the Democrats blasting him for decrying conditions in Baltimore also label-sen Bernie Sanders “racist” for calling Baltimore a “third world country” and a “disgrace” in the year of 2015 should be, if you want to, consistently.

“Crazy Bernie Sanders recently, the city of Baltimore is set to a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY! Based on this statement, I assume that Bernie now needs to be characterized, the Racist, would only be as a Republican, if he uses this term and standard!” Trump tweeted.

“It is a fact, Baltimore may be brought back, maybe even to new heights of success and fame, but not with King Elijah and crew,” Trump is. “If the leaders of Baltimore would like to see rise in the city again, I’m waiting in a beautiful oval office to your call!”

The President was referring to comments Sanders, I-Vt., made in December 2015. Sanders, who was then a top of the Democratic primary candidates, took its own shots in Baltimore.

“Who took the hike, we went to this neighborhood would not think you’re in a wealthy nation,” Sanders said during a visit to the city, West Baltimore section in the year 2015, the Baltimore Sun reported. “You would think that they were in a third world country.”

Sanders, also known in Baltimore as “a community in which half the people have no jobs.”

“We are talking about a community in which there are hundreds of buildings that are uninhabitable,” he added, according to the sun.

Sanders was the visit to the section of Baltimore, where a 25-year-old black man by the name of Freddie Gray was arrested earlier that year for allegedly in the possession of an illegal knife. Grey fell into a coma while in police custody and died a few days later, sparking a national outcry against the members of the city police Department.

But all six police officers were suspended in connection with the death of either all charges were dropped against them or were acquitted.

In 2016, Sanders tweeted about Baltimore said: “the residents of Baltimore’s poorest districts have to live a shorter life than people under the dictatorship in North Korea. That’s a shame.”

Sanders’ comments resurfaced in the midst of a controversy between Trump and Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., who represents Baltimore.

Trump described Cummings’ district as a “disgusting, rats and rodents infested mess.”

“If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up the very dangerous & dirty place,” Trump tweeted over the weekend.

Days later, he asked: “Where is all the money going?” and refers to federal funds sent to the city.

“How much is stolen? The investigation of this corrupt mess immediately!

Prominent Democrats—including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., born in Baltimore, and 2020 presidential hopeful Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., collected to Cummings’ defense.

But Sanders, who appeared on Saturday to abandon his past criticism of the Baltimore, and shifted his focus to bashing the President.

“Here’s tweeted, what’s really going on,” Sanders. “@RepCummings has been the revelation of the error of the trump management and free of the greed of Trump’s friends in the pharmaceutical industry, and our racist President is not like that.”
