The ‘Special Report’ All-Stars weigh in on trump-administration-a strategy for North Korea.
To meet or not to meet-that is the question all of the questions about President Trump, and North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-Un.
The two leaders have gone back and forth whether to hold a historic summit this summer as a push for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. After the adoption of the Kim announced in the invitation to Trump, he was at the summit to pull out in a letter to the North Korean leader in may.
But since then, as the talks between the officials, Trump has proposed that the summit could still happen.
Read on for a look at how the meeting came about, together, fell apart and potentially came back.
Trump accepted the invitation
Trump Kim’s invitation to meet at the beginning of March, accepted the White house said.
“President Trump has said for some time that he was open to talks and that he would finally meet with Kim, if the conditions were right,” then-US Secretary of state Rex Tillerson said. “And I think that the President came to the judgment, the time is.”
Date, time and place is set
It was not until may, when the date for the summit was set to public: 12. June. Trump said in a tweet that he and Kim would “try both, make it a very special moment for peace in the world.”

Leaders waffle on meeting
Later, in may, Trump started out, back in, of course, whether the meeting would take place, as North Korea, speaks to a niche officials threatened to cancel.
“If it happens, maybe it will happen later. You never know, about offers. I have a lot of offers,” Trump said on may 22. “You can never really know. It may not work. June 12.”
The comments came after a meeting with the South Korean President, Moon Jae-in on the White house.
Later, according to Vice-President Mike Pence on Fox News, Kim said, had asked for the meeting, North Korea’s Deputy foreign Minister accused the US to sit the “misleading the public opinion, as if we invited you, with us.”
“We are not the US, begging for dialogue, still make the effort not to persuade you, if you want to sit along with us,” Choe Sun Hui, allegedly, said.
Trump from the back
Trump announced on may 24 that he decided to pull you to the summit in an open letter to Kim.
“I was very wrote to excited to be there with them,” Trump. “Unfortunately … I have the feeling it is inappropriate, at this time, the long-planned meeting.”
“I had a wonderful dialogue, the building between you and me, and it is only dialogue that counts,” Trump is in the end. “Some days, I have been very eager to meet you.”

Trumpf offers hope for the meeting
Trump suggested a summit could still be in June in a may-25 tweet.
“We have a very extended productive talks with North Korea on the re-introduction of the summit, which, if it happens, probably still in Singapore on the same date, June 12th, and, if necessary, beyond this point in time,” Trump.
