Trump brags of the contract for the wall in Texas, the Dems take the blame for the partial shutdown

President Trump took to Twitter in the early Christmas eve evening to brag, its the last frontier-wall performance, while Democrats are the blame for the deadlock, which has shut down part of the Federal government.

He tweeted on Monday: “I’m in the Oval Office & a 115 km long contract for a large section of wall in Texas. We are already in the construction and renovation of many miles of the wall, some completed. Democrats need to drive to the end and you finish the financing. Billions of dollars, and lives will be saved!”

It is unclear whether Trump’s tweet means a new contract or an existing one.

Little progress has been made on the wall, in spite of Trump’s tweet, in reference to one of its original promises, as President, during the election campaign.

A March invoice, including money for 33 miles of barrier construction in South Texas, Rio Grande Valley, but the work has not yet begun.

Customs and Border Protection announced in early November a $145-million construction project was awarded to build about six miles of border wall in Texas. The Agency, in conjunction with the Army Corps of Engineers, gave the multi-million dollar job with the Border Patrol in the Rio Grande Valley sector SLSCO, which is expected to kick off in February.

Others work only replaced the existing barriers, which had as its “ineffective” added miles.

It looks like Christmas is over before the government will have the opportunity to be fully back in business. The incoming acting chief of staff of the White house Mick Mulvaney, said the partial shutdown could drive, drag in the New year.

Monday and Tuesday, Christmas eve and Christmas, respectively, on Federal holidays, i.e., the government is eh. This means that Wednesday is the first day the public could start to feel the impact of lost government benefits, said Mulvaney.

Funding for a variety of departments and agencies Saturday has expired.

The disorder affects many operations and approximately 800,000 Federal employees.
