President Trump on Tuesday took to Twitter in defense of his desired wall along the U.S.-Mexican border, describes it as an aesthetically pleasing building that also provide the necessary protection for the country.

The funding for the wall – one of the presidents of the major election promises – is currently the source of disagreement between Republicans and Democrats in their efforts to avert a government shutdown later this week.

“The Democrats, not to say loud and clear that you want to build a Concrete wall – but we do not build the concrete wall that we build, artistically designed steel slats, so that you can easily see through it,” Trump tweeted.

“It will be beautiful, and, at the same time, give our country the security that our citizens deserve,” he continued. “It goes quickly, and save us BILLIONS of dollars per month once it’s ready!”

Trump had demanded $ 5 billion in funding for the wall. Democrats returned with a $1.3 billion counter-offer – with the condition that it was for fencing, and not a wall.

There was some evidence from the White house on Tuesday that the government might back down on its earlier demands for the financing. White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said the White house was looking at “all options”, additional resources – must, including diverted funds, or “reprogrammed” from other departments.

“President Trump everyone has asked his Cabinet secretaries to look for the financing that can be used to protect our borders and give the President the opportunity to fulfill its constitutional duties to protect the American people with a secure border,” she said.
