President Trump on Saturday accused the Democrats and “their pathetic immigration policy” for the death of children and other people on the border-on the grounds that they encourage migrants to make the trek to the North in dangerous situations.
“All of the deaths of children or others that are on the boundary solely the fault of the Democrats and their pathetic immigration policy, the people thinking on the long trip, you can enter our country illegally. You can’t do it. If we don’t try to be a wall, you would!” he tweeted.
Trump referred to the recent deaths of two child migrants who died in government custody this month. Felipe Gomez Alonzo, eight, died this week after arrested by border agents in Texas.

After an agent noticed, Alonzo, cough, father and son were taken to Alamogordo brought to the hospital, where Felipe was diagnosed with a cold and a fever of 103 degrees, according to customs and border control. However, after the dismissal with drugs, he became ill and died in the hospital.
The death comes after the death of the seven-year-old Jakelin Caal Maquin in this month. Customs and border protection officials said the girl, dehydrated also was from Guatemala, as had not eaten or consumed water for several days before she was arrested.
Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said she had ordered them “to stop extraordinary measures of protection”, such deaths occur, and asked had an investigation into what they said was an increase in the sick children crossing our borders.”

On Saturday, Trump tweeted that the children were sick before they came into U.S. custody, and noted that the father of the Maquin had said it was all the fault of the border authorities.
“The two children in question were very sick before they were given over to the Border Patrol. The father of the girl said that it was her fault, he would not have tweeted your water in days,” he said. “Border Patrol must of the wall-and they all end up. You work so hard and get so little credit!”
