WASHINGTON – It seems that President Donald Trump is at the military parade he wants to be in Washington — although he may have to settle for no tanks.
A Pentagon memo released Friday says the parade will only be on vehicles on wheels to minimize damage to the District of Columbia streets. But it will end up with a “heavy air component”, which means that many planes flying overhead.
The memo from the office of the Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis provides an initial orientation to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of staff, who will take the stage on the parade.
The event is scheduled for November. 11, Veterans Day, along a route from the White House and the Capitol.
Trump decided he wanted to be a military parade in Washington, after he visited France, Bastille Day celebration last year in Paris.
