“Build the wall” was the unofficial slogan of then-candidate Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.

Three years later, in the midst of a number of legal and political setbacks, the issues raised on the project for the future of the trump administration makes a renewed effort to show voters of the U.S.-Mexico border wall remains a top priority, touting the recent construction and swears on the pace, to go in 2020.

The purchase of the critical strip of private land has cleared the way, they argue, for a new phase. The plan, which officials said used to construct reporters at a briefing this week, upwards of 450-500 km by the end of next year — a Herculean task that almost eight times what is built, the construction teams to date.

“It goes quickly and we put it where the Border Patrol the most, wants it,” Trump said in a video message on Sunday. “We take money from the whole, because, as you know, the Democrats don’t want us to build the wall — they are fighting us at every step.”

The President has the recent gains in its immigration agenda. The administration announced new statistics on Monday with the number of border apprehensions in August was 64,006 — a jump of 56 percent since may. While still historically high, administration officials said it shows diplomacy efforts with countries such as Mexico pays.

Meanwhile, the government has announced a formal “public charge” rule, calling for cracking down on immigrants who claim welfare, an overhaul of the Flores settlement, the limits on how long children and families can be kept in custody, and a rule that stops asylum seekers have passed through other countries of asylum in the United States

While many of the efforts of the government face major court challenges and decried by critics as overwhelmed, you mark an aggressive push to crack down on illegal immigration and reforming the legal immigration system.

The wall was faced with its own set of challenges. Trump fought confronted the financing of the Congress and hurdles, such as the challenge of securing of private land needed for the new wall construction. Democrats are almost entirely against a wall, saying it is a waste of money and against the American values.

But in July, the court sided with the administration in the lifting of a freeze, the encouraged, plans to use the Pentagon-money-for-wall-design. Last week, the Pentagon announced that it intends to make the shift from $3.6 billion to wall construction as part of a series of moves that use the management to get around the congressional logjam, when it comes to wall-financing.

The management advertises that 60 miles have been built by “new boundary wall system”, so far. Critics note that this is a replacement of the wall in areas that already have existing barriers and fences. But the administration pushed back the officials to say what will be replaced, largely landing Mat barriers, which can be pushed or the “Normandy-style” to be crossed, stepped over. Government representatives make the Seussian question: If a wall can easily fall, then there is even a wall at all?

“If you take that and you put in the, what is now being built — this is a new wall,” an official said at a briefing in Washington earlier this week. “It is 30 meters high, embedded in concrete, the structure is incredibly strong, it is anti-climbing techniques, there is also additional technology — lighting, access roads, etc. so it is a wall system really is. So where the wall is built, it is a new wall.”

Arguments about new or replacement wall apart, the management is now planning an aggressive push to build more wall at the end of next year, which happens to be, when the presidential election will be held. “Build the wall” will certainly return to the rally-rotation as a trump re-election campaign moves into full swing.

Perhaps driven in part by the political urgency that Trump has a fire under his team to get the job done. According to The Washington Post, he told the helper he wants the 500 miles is done by the election day and proposed that he would pardon me officers, if you break the law. The White house denied that Trump floated pardons.

Much 500 miles is what calling the administration “a new linear-wall” – wall, where there is no structure. The officials say they expect the construction of 100 miles of the “linear wall” miles in the Rio Grande Valley sector alone.

How, where, they say, they listen to the agents on the ground, and different industries have different needs. In the Laredo area, for example, agents Fox News last month said that the wall was a top priority, as you enter a higher number of single men over the border and tax evasion.

Democrats, meanwhile, have objected to the cost of the wall and the project as a whole. On Thursday, Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., it is noted that Trump would pay had promised, Mexico, for the barrier and called it “an ineffective wall, which is based on a cynical campaign promises, and stands in no relation to the real national security in this country.”

Government officials deny that this amounts to a presidential vanity project..

“This is not build as we do, just to show we are making progress, we build, where Border Patrol have said, your priorities are,” said another official said.

They will also tell you that you are putting up a wall faster than the previous administrations. After the Secure Fence Act passed in 2006 under the Bush administration, the way from the Mediterranean to the ditch was a two-year cycle; now, officials say, they have always done the process in less than a year.

In addition, one of the hurdles the administration is was that much of the area that you need for the project is on privately owned land that the government acquire land, a lengthy process. Now that a lot of land was purchased, say, can pick up the officials of the pace and teams with a number of structures can be build at the same time.

“We have done so that you are going to see the pace of construction of new linear miles in areas that were not Federal to accelerate in the coming weeks and months, especially when the DoD is in the game,” said the official. “So we go from two to three miles a week a lot more.”

Trump supporters, keeping a watchful eye on what is going on with wall construction. On Monday night, Trump held a rally in Fayetteville, N. C. attended, where he tagged Democratic House candidate Dan McCready as a supporter of “sanctuary cities.”

“We build the wall and it is very large,” he said.

The persistent chant that followed was a message of support and a statement to the President: “Build the wall,” they sang.
