Tribute Prince and George Michael during Grammy Awards
During the Grammy’s this Sunday will be a tribute made to both Prince and George Michael. Both singers came to death in 2016.
The organization made Wednesday announced that a special tribute is planned, but told not yet any musicians involved in this will work.
Chairman of the award show, Neil Portnow will find it not more than right that a tribute should be for the singers is because both “popiconen who showed special musical genious and an extraordinary charisma had”.
“The death of two of such creative pioneers was a great loss for the creative community; The Recording Academy is honored to have their huge legacy to commemorate the Grammy-stage”, said Portnow in a statement.
Prince, seven-time Grammy awards during his career, came in april last year to death. After research it was stated that he died from an overdose of painkillers.
George Michael was found dead in his home on christmas day. He was believed to be death by heart failure, but the exact cause is still under investigation.
David Bowie, who in January 2016 died, was during the Grammy’s that year commemorated with a tribute provided by Lady Gaga. His last album, Blackstar is this year nominated for several Grammy Awards.
