Former South Carolina Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy slammed Democrats and the media go after Republicans pushed back against Russia’s collusion investigation.
Gowdy praised his former colleague, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, after he announced plans to appoint a probe into alleged abuse of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) at the beginning of the Russia-investigation, including a call for attorney General Bill Barr, to investigate a new special counsel, the “other side of the story.”
“There were some house Republicans who have sought for the last 12 months to the FISA process, the organization of the FBI investigation in the year 2016. We were made a mockery of our Democratic colleagues, and to be quite honest, most of the people in the media because he dared to, as Jim Comey could have possibly deleted, Hillary Clinton, before she was questioned. Democrats don’t want any part of that,” Gowdy told “America’s Newsroom” on Monday.

He added that the media, after Graham’s announcement, not to ask a single question about the origin of the investigation.
“As an American, you should have a Department of Justice and FBI, who can you trust, but if someone is listening, press conference want to know why so many of my fellow citizens have so little trust in the media, after two years, and not find any evidence of conspiracy or coordination, the first three questions were about – they were about the origin of the investigation, it was about obstruction of justice.
“There’s no question that…Nothing about the past two years, $25 million, 500 witness interviews, no media requests.”

Gowdy said the former FBI Director, James Comey needs to get out of Twitter, after he posted a picture of herself this weekend, with the caption: “so many questions.”
“Someone needs to Twitter Comey’s account away from him, someone who hates the President as much as he does, and the President is deleted, the on any – even a scintilla of evidence for a cooperation with the Russians…in spite of several offers that didn’t know the Russians still, and Comey is not happy.”

“The Department of Justice answers true-false questions. You don’t write reports of other misconduct that does not rise above the criminal level, and you don’t do oppo research on people we don’t like,” said Gowdy. “This is a part of how we got where we are today.”
