NEWARK, N. J. – New Jersey health officials are warning travelers at Newark Liberty International Airport, that they have been exposed to the measles virus.
The Ministry of Health says that a young child carrying the disease arrived in the airport Monday in Brussels, and later moved to Memphis. Health officials warn that people may develop symptoms as late April 2.
New Jersey residents who are exposed to the flight of the child will be contacted by their local health departments. Officials advise contacting a health care provider if they develop possible symptoms.
Measles is a very contagious disease with symptoms that include rash, high fever, cough, runny nose and red, watery eyes.
The warning comes just a few months after another measles alert at Newark airport.
