John Terry has Monday a contract for one year signed with Aston Villa. The 36-year-old defender was a press conference after his contract at Chelsea after nineteen seasons, was not renewed.

Villa, where Dutchman Leandro Bacuna under contract, comes off in the Championship. The club, Birmingham were relegated in the season 2015/2016, for the first time in the history of aast back on promotion.

Terry looks forward to his new adventure. “I admire Aston Villa for years. There are fantastic facilities and Villa Park is one of the most beautiful stadiums of the country. There is a good cast of actors with an experienced and successful manager in the person of Steve Bruce,” he says on the site of the English club.

Terry made in 1998 his debut for Chelsea. In total he played in all competitions 713 games for the ‘Blues’, of which 578 as the captain. He scored 66 times.

The 78-fold international captured sixteen prizes with Chelsea. In 2012, he won with his club the Champions League, then Bayern Munich in the final after penalty shoot-out was defeated. Terry missed the match through suspension.

In addition to the Champions League win was Terry four times won the national championship with Chelsea and he won five times in the FA Cup three times, the League Cup twice, the Community Shield and once in the Europa League.
