Vivianne Miedema has her mid-2019 expiring contract with Arsenal extended. The club from London reports Thursday only that it’s going to make a commitment for the “long term”.
“I appreciate the club very much, because of the direction that we go, because here I am happy and because we are a good football play,” says the 22-year-old Miedema, on the site of Arsenal. “I want to continue to grow at this club.”
The 68-fold Orange-international (53 goals) joined in the summer of 2017, after three years of Bayern Munich to Arsenal. She has since then 19 goals made in 21 league games. This season, the counter in all competitions to twenty hits in fourteen duels.
“Vivianne is a fantastic striker, one of the best in women’s football,” said Arsenal coach Joe Montemurro. “She has the qualities to be in the most difficult positions to find the target. We are very happy that they have her contract renewed.”
Miedema’s compatriots Sari van Veenendaal, Daniëlle van de Donk and Dominique Bloodworth also play at Arsenal. The quartet came last month with the Oranjevrouwen for the world cup in France.
Congratulations, @VivianneMiedema 👏
