“Too few nurses in cardiac centers’
Many cardiac centers in the Netherlands have to contend with a shortage of specialist nurses. More than half of the heart and centres fails to have enough qualified nurses to find.

Due to the lack of specialized staff, fewer people are treated and need to medical surgeries to be postponed.
According to the NVvC is one of the causes of the deficit that cardiology nurses often transfer to the intensive care unit or emergency room. The shortage is supplemented by hired nurses through employment agencies. According to employment agency, TMI, specialised in nursing staff, the demand for hartverpleegkundigen in a year’s time, nearly doubled.
