‘Toni Erdmann and La La Land, best movies 2016’

The German comedy Toni Erdmann and the American musical La La Land by the Dutch filmpers named the best feature films of 2016.
The two titles were the most points after a vote by 104 Dutch critics. That has the Circle of Dutch Filmjournalisten (KNF) Tuesday announced.
Toni Erdmann and La La Land were the past few months, all with various prizes awarded.
The best Dutch movie of the year, according to the filmjournalisten boekverfilming Tonio by Paula van der Oest. The drama, based on the autobiographical book by A. F. Th. van der Heiden, talks about the grieving process of two parents (Pierre Bokma and Rifka Lodeizen) after the death of their son.
On the second and third place finish two documentaries: The Children of Juf box with no insulation (about a Dutch teacher who teaches in a class with children of migrants) and Strike a Pose (about a group of achtergronddansers of Madonna).
It is the fourteenth time that the Dutch filmpers the best film of the year choose. The past few years came Son of Saul(2015), Boyhood (2014), La Grande Bellezza (2013) and Amour (2012) the title in the wait.
