The Dutch navigation company TomTom is working on software for self-propelled cars of the Chinese Baidu.
That has TomTom on Wednesday announced. In the collaboration, detailed maps of Chinese roads made for the use of the self-propelled autosoftware Apollo.
TomTom is one of the fifty companies that are now in the development of Apollo is involved. According to Bloomberg, four Chinese automakers and parts suppliers Bosch and Continental joined the initiative. Also techgigant Microsoft participates in the project.
Apollo must freely be made available to automakers. A first version of the software is in 2018 expected.
