Tom Hanks won a sick wife due to illness
Tom Hanks won his wife Rita Wilson through the difficult period which they had breast cancer. With music, movies, lots of love and laugh together, he helped her 2015 in the emotional battle against the disease.
That told Rita Wilson, who is now completely cancer free, during a benefit evening for Women’s Cancer Research Fund.
“One thing that has me through it has dragged – when I got the diagnosis, and treatments had to undergo – that you still have time free to love each other and keep laughing,” said the 60-year-old Wilson at the Daily Mail. She is now 29 years with the well-known actor married.
By the disease had Wilson both breasts amputated. But still continued to Hanks for her support and guidance. “We watched films,” says Wilson. “We looked at great documentaries, we ate good food and we did our best to be thankful for what we had.”
According to Hanks, that was ‘not so hard to do’. “It is as if the outside really is a storm while you are inside, and hot chocolate for everyone.”
