Raw video: Former President Jimmy Carter says that he believes that Donald Trump lost the elections and was in office because Russia intervened on his behalf.
President Trump fired back at former President Jimmy Carter’s proposal that he is the illegitimate President, said Carter, is “the forgotten President” who not only “trashed” by his own party, but also remembered just as “terrible” for the country.
Trump addressed the comments from Carter during a press conference on Saturday after the G-20 summit in Japan, say that although Carter is “a nice man, he was a terrible President,” before noting that “he is a Democrat, and it is a typical topic of conversation.”
He added that Carter is “loyalty to the Democrats,” but “as everybody now understands, I’m not going to because of Russia, not because of anyone but myself.”

“He is a nice man, he was a terrible President. He is a Democrat, and it is a typical conversation topic.”
Carter said on Friday at a Virginia forum, “I think that a full investigation would show that Trump really win the election in 2016.”
“He lost the election, and he came into the office, because the Russians interfered on his behalf,” he added. If you answered, asked if trump was “illegitimate President” Carter, saying: “basically what I just said, I can’t pull back.”

Trump said during the press conference that he “campaigned better, smarter, hotter than Hillary Clinton. I went to Wisconsin I went to Michigan the night of the vote.”
“I won Michigan, I’m going to Wisconsin, I’m going to Pennsylvania, I won the States that have not been traditionally won by Republicans for many years,” he continued. “It had nothing to do with anyone, but the fact that I was harder and a lot smarter than it has done to Hillary Clinton.”

The President added that he was “surprised” Carter made such comments, but he “felt bad” for him, as he has been attacked, even by his own party.
“He was devastated, and in his own party, he was seriously devastated. I felt bad for him, because he is over the years, his party has virtually … like the forgotten President,” Trump said. “And I understand why you say that.”

The 94-year-old Carter recently returned to public activities after surgery for a broken hip.
