Trump-Putin summit comes at Mueller-probe

President Trump the upcoming summit meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Finland takes place in Helsinki, on 16. In July, the White house announced on Thursday.

The White house announced that the two will discuss “the relations between the United States and a number of national security”, when they meet.

The event will take place as part of the trump of the trip to Europe. Trump’s plans for a meeting with British Prime Minister Theresa May, on 13 July, and is expected to attend a NATO summit in Brussels, Belgium, July 11-12.

The summit with Putin comes under the FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller, the probe in the alleged Russian interference in the election of 2016. Trump has been critical of the probe, denied any agreement and argue that the Democrats will be investigated instead. He’s also given conflicting statements about the role played by Russia in 2016 faults-but on Thursday echoed the Russian denials, in the midst of the planning for the summit.

On Wednesday, the National security adviser, John Bolton talks with Moscow officials for the summit. Also on Wednesday, Trump said that they would discuss Syria and the Ukraine, among other issues.

Russia’s Deputy foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet with Secretary of state Mike Pompeo, within the next two weeks as part of efforts to prepare for the summit.

The Trump-Putin summit comes on the back of Trump’s closely watched summit this month with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un in Singapore, where the two discussed the denuclearization and other related topics. Trump has always celebrated the meeting as a success.
