Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has his own competitor to Amazon’s Alexa , and the running of his own house.
Thanks to this smart home system, called Jarvis, Zuckerberg can talk with their phone or computer to control the lighting, temperature, music and home security system, he explained in a blog post.

The system can recognize speech as well as other smart devices, but it also makes use of advanced natural language processing which makes it possible to learn new words and concepts, in the service of face recognition and more, Zuckerberg wrote. One thing that really sets Jarvis apart from Amazon’s Alexa and Google Home system is the ability to communicate with it remotely via sms. Zuckerberg can use the system to dim the lights, put his house heat and more, he explains.

Unfortunately, Jarvis is not available for the average consumer yet, and so far there seems to be no indication of whether Jarvis will ever make in our homes. But as more consumers transition to the smart home , this may be just the beginning of Facebook’s venture into much more than your social life.
