The CEO of Boeing, said President Donald Trump on Wednesday that his company will be able to build a new Air Force One for less than originally quoted-after trump complained about the cost.
Earlier this month, Trump made headlines, the company is blasting on Twitter for alleged cost overruns with the new fleet of Air Force One aircraft.
Trump called on the government to withdraw from the contract and demanded the alleged $ 4 billion in price is out of control.
Boeing’s Dennis Muilenburg, the with Trump in his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Fla., the media addressed after the meeting and said, “We are going to get it done for less than that, and we are committed to work together to ensure that this happens.”
Anthony Scaramucci, a Trump consultant, the founder of SkyBridge Capital, tweeted about the reduction and calling it a “big win for the taxpayer.”
Trump also met on Wednesday with Lockheed Martin Corp., Marillyn Hewson, after he criticized the cost of the F-35.
“To try to reduce the cost, the cost. Especially the F-35…we try to keep the cost down. It is a program that is very, very expensive,” Trump told reporters.
