Captions are to come to us, as “to Wait for the 18+ SnapChat: [user name]” or “suggest you to follow me on SnapChat: username”, accompanied by hashtags such as, #stripdance, #18plusonly, and 18pluscontent.
Some of the TikTok, users are actually falling for the scam. “On the basis of a random sample of the adult dating scam accounts that I’ve met so far, since March, 2019, on average, each and every take into account would be to follow 299 of the users, it would be followed by more than 650 users and received an average of 1,744 like to talk about their music videos,” says Narang.
The world’s most successful scam account, I have over 34,000 likes on their videos, and amassed over 12,300 people, he added.
Shelf life is also a “part” of the report, which looked at how the scammers impersonate a popular TikTok accounts in order to be eligible for the following without changing the original content.
The movement of the user in order to Snapchat
When TikTok user to jump on Snapchat, they will see a Snapchat Story, the videos, some of which were of the same unidentified woman to do something sexual in nature. The stories will also contain a link that directs users to a page that is hosted on Google Sites, and more.
The Google Sites page in order to redirect them to a “prelander” (or to an intermediary page with a fake survey questions.
“As soon as the user completes the survey, they are redirected to the real adult dating site that offers an affiliate program to your traffic and sign-ups. These crooks will make use of a cost-per-action (CPA) network, and its affiliated companies, in exchange for some sort of revenue share,” Narang said.
However, the scammers have recently changed tactics in order to get around the need to convince a user to an adult-dating website, according to Narang.
“Instead, they ask users to subscribe to a ‘premium’ Snapchat account,…As you can imagine, the users have to pay for the so-called ” premium for Snapchat aren’t likely to get anything back,” Narang added. “Instead, the crooks to move away from being a middle-man, and to be paid directly by the victims, rather than through a CPA firm.”
