FRANKFURT (Reuters) – Thyssenkrupp is hoping to win contracts for the planned factory, Tesla plans to build in the area of Berlin and is a member of the board of directors of the German consortium, told the business daily.
“We are in discussions about how to carry out certain services,” He Keysberg, a member of the board of management of the steel and the materials and services at Thyssenkrupp, told the Handelsblatt, declining to be more specific.
Thyssenkrupp makes everything from elevators and submarines, to auto parts, steel, stainless steel, and fertilizer plants.
Tesla last month said it would build its first European manufacturing plant and a design center in Germany, which the US electric car pioneer of the much-coveted “Made in Germany” tag, add the site to produce batteries, motors, and cars.
