“Three Palestinians were killed in riots in East Jerusalem

Three Palestinians on Friday in East Jerusalem, died of it. In the area there are demonstrations against new safety rules imposed by Israel. The voltages are therefore hoogopgelopen. Earlier it became known that men under fifty years are no longer welcome to the Friday prayer to attend in the Old Town.

In the district are, among others, the temple mount with the wailing wall and the al-Aqsa mosque.

According to the Palestinian ministry of Health, there are two boys of 17 and 18 years of age and a person whose age ombekend. Two of the three victims would by a gunshot to the life. About a suspected perpetrator nothing is known.

In a statement for the measure to be the army on information about the threat of violence by “extremist elements”. Women under the age of fifty are welcome.

Al-Aqsa mosque

A spokesman for the Israeli government says to NU.nl that the measure only applies to people that the Friday prayer in the al-Aqsa mosque to attend. It is not focused on people with a certain religion, but “it is clear that only muslims pray in the mosque, so in practice it applies for them”.

In the area since the attacks are strict security checks with, among other metal detectors. The measures on Friday further increased.

Since the attacks are already dozens of injured cases in confrontations between Palestinians and the Israeli police. Also Thursday night, there were again riots in which at least twenty Palestinians were injured.
