Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’ wins Bafta for best film

At the presentation of the Bafta’s is “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” by director Martin McDonagh Sunday night was voted best film. The American-British co-production was with five prices the large slokop of this edition of the British film and televisieprijzen.

In the category best film, had Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’ take on ‘Call Me By Your Name” (Luca Guadagnino), ‘Darkest Hour’ (Joe Wright,), ‘Dunkirk’ (Christopher Nolan) and ‘The Shape of Water’ (Guillermo del Toro).

That last movie bagged a whopping twelve nominations in the wait, but could there be but three cashing, including that for best director. The print is also large slokop at the nominations for the Oscars, where the film in thirteen categories, a throw to the oppergaai.

The Brit Gary Oldman went Sunday night to get started with the award for best actor. Oldman received for his rendition of the British prime minister Winston Churchill in the war film ‘the Darkest Hour’. The American Frances McDormand was honoured as best actress for her role in ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

The Bafta’s, short for British Academy of Film and Television Arts, are like the British of a warm-up for the Oscars, on march 4, will be presented in Hollywood.
