Thousands of people evacuated in Japan after torrential rain
In Japan, thousands of people since Sunday were evacuated after heavy rainfall in the north and east of the country.
According to Japan Times on Sunday, in the city of Akita a record 340 mm of rain fell in 24 hours. In the city there are 25,000 people forced to evacuate. A further 65,000 people, this was advised.
Many rivers overflowed and dozens of houses are flooded. According to the authorities, there are still no injuries or deaths reported.
Also the train network around Akita is damaged by the regenvallen.
