Helle Thomsen is no longer the coach of the Dutch handbalsters. The Danish last Thursday, in consultation with the Dutch handbalbond decided to have her contract not to renew.
“Actually it is because I’m ambitious and goal oriented am,” explains Thomsen its decision on the website of the bond. “I want to optimize on all fronts to larger goals to be able to pick up for the team.”
Thomsen was in september 2016 appointed as head coach of the Orange, and the team had three successful tournaments under its aegis.
Under the direction of Thomsen conquered the handbalsters earlier this month, bronze at the european CHAMPIONSHIPS. In the semi-finals went to the Netherlands crashed against the later European champion France and defeated in the battle for the third place Romania.
At the world CHAMPIONSHIPS last year, took the handbalsters also the bronze, after the semi-final battle was lost to Norway. The formation of Thomsen had a year earlier in the european CHAMPIONSHIP final, also her several recognise in the Norwegian women.
Thomsen proud of performance with Amber
Thomsen is proud of her performance with the Dutch team. “I am very pleased with my job and proud of what we have achieved together”, let them know.
“It is an honor when other people from the handbalwereld say that I, together with the NHV for have ensured that the team now in the top three of the world hear. That is a nice feeling.”
The Dutch handbalbond think that the ambitions of Thomsen’s too high on account of the cooperation to extend. “We would like to thank Helle for all of her work, reach the top and win the beautiful medals,” says technical director Paul van Gestel.
“We wish her much success with her new plans in the future”, says van Gestel. “The ambitions of the Hell, which we are also striving to transcend the possibilities of the NHV.”
It is still unknown who the successor of Thomsen as coach of the handbalsters. The 48-year-old coach will remain coach of the Norwegian Molde HK. The trainerschap in that club combined them starting in mid-2018 with her function at Orange.
