Thijs Römer is that actors in a luxepositie sit. “You turn a series, you will be in the morning, be picked up, they ask you whether you want breakfast, you get you package handed.”
“You’re actually treated like a mental what minderbegaafd person who do not care for themselves. Which in the case of some actors also absolutely true, hahaha!”, thus the actor in conversation with the VARAgids.
“If you’re done, the make-up of your face taken and you will be through with your acteursleventje. Actors usually work also but three, four days in the week. It is a half job. A luxurious, half-job.”
As an actor, director and producer of the series Weemoedt experienced Römer how complicated it is to combine everything. “But what I really loved was that I should figure out with whom we the series went. Both in front of the camera as behind it. Was fun to puzzle to make: that cameraman that fits in well with that gaffer that the light does, and that fits well again with that sound man – thus the team build.”
Römer wanted everyone on his set the most out of his or her talent could pick up. “In my experience, there are the most beautiful things. And it is up to me to make the frameworks. That brand I also in the appgroep of Weemoedt, that everyone is very content about feels.”
