Tech billionaire and vocal-Donald Trump supporters Peter Thiel is reportedly a run for Governor of California in 2018, is considering, Politico reported, citing three Republicans familiar with the matter.
Still, those in the know, Thiel says, he is private and, when you consider that Trump won only 30 percent of the vote in the state of, say, the chances of a campaign are low.
Thiel has been a vocal advocate for the trombone and helped in the organization of the last all-star-tech-leader meeting in the Trump Tower in New York. Thiel gave a speech at the Republican National Convention and has contributed more than $8.5 million to candidates and committees since 2000, according to Politico.
Phil Cox, a former Republican Governors Association executive director, said the magazine, to do that, the Republicans with business backgrounds tend to be effective.
“With the trump of victory, we will see, even more-traditional applicants with backgrounds in business, not politics — in the political arena,” he told the magazine.
