‘The Young and the Restless’ actor William Wintersole is dead at 88

William Wintersole, who played the role of Edmund Sherman in the daytime drama “The Young and the Restless” for more than 20 years, died on Tuesday in Los Angeles home at the age of 88. He indicated that he was complications of cancer, according to his daughter.

Wintersole was also played by Ted Ballantine on the “General Hospital” in the 1980’s, and appearances on “I Dream of Jeannie,” “Kojak,” “the Little House on the Prairie,” “Quincy,” “Bonanza,” “Star Trek,” and “The Fugitive” during his career.

An Ohio native, Wintersole was born on the 30th of July, 1931, and began his career in the mid-1960s.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene Silverstein, and their daughters, Tiffany Harmon, and Dr. Ramsey. He had three grand-daughters, Kristy, Amy, and Jill; and one great-granddaughter, Abby.
