The White house and the top Democrat on the house Intelligence committee sparred Saturday over the release of the memo by Democrats on the alleged monitoring abuses in the Russia investigation.
“Some time ago, the Republicans on our Committee published and released a memo, omitted and distorted facts in order to mislead the public and the integrity of the FBI’s riding,” said California Rep. Adam Schiff, the Committee’s top Democrat. “We can now say what they omitted.”
Ship led efforts to secure the release of the memo a rebuttal of the Republican leaders of the GOP-controlled Committee released earlier this month.
The memo claims that the justice Ministry will receive a monitoring justify at once-Trump-campaign consultant, Carter-page, based on an anti-Trump dossier, paid Locker is verified, at least partially, by the Democrats, including 2016 presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton. The arrest warrant was sought, the federal Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.
Trump allowed the publication of the Republican and Democratic memos.
“While the Democrats” tried to memorandum to the President politically, the President supported his publication, in the interest of transparency,” the White house said on Saturday, after the memo was published.
“Nevertheless, this is a politically driven document serious concerns of the (GOP) has not replied to the memorandum on the use of the party-political opposition research for a candidate that is loaded with unsubstantiated statements, to ask as a basis to approve a court’s supervision of a former employee of the other candidates, at the height of the presidential campaign.
“Like the majority of, the memorandum specified that the FISA judge was never informed that Hillary Clinton and the (Democratic National Committee), the dossier that was the basis for the Ministry of justice, the FISA application. In addition, the minority memo fails to even address the fact that the Deputy FBI Director, told the Committee that, had it not been for the dossier, no monitor, already had been looking for. As the President said a long time, neither he nor his campaign in cooperation with a foreign power, in the election in 2016, and nothing in today’s memo-counter, the fact.”
California GOP Rep. Devin Nunes, the Chairman of the Intelligence committee, said on Saturday: “The American people now that the FBI used the political dirt, paid for by the Democratic party to spy on an American citizen from the Republican party.
“In addition, the FISA court was misled about Mr. page, the past interactions with the FBI, where he helped build a case against Russian agents in America, were brought to court. It is the conviction defies that the Department of Justice and the FBI has no information of a secret court that she had provided, to an open Federal court in relation to their past interactions with Mr. page.”
