OXFORD, Ohio – the University of Miami is an attempt to save some of her most iconic ash on her idyllic southwest Ohio campus of the destructive emerald ash borer.
The Hamilton-Middletown Journal-News reports more than 650 essen have been infected by the invasive beetle that has spread across the united states. with devastating results since the beginning of the years 2000. The signs have been placed on Miami’s campus warning people to be alert for falling branches.
The University of Miami is Cody Powell says the school is focused on the rescue of the largest and most iconic trees on the campus. He says that the school has an “awful lot” of bottles and that saves them all is not possible.
