Donald Trump, the team moves away from the president-elect “the swamp” campaign slogan.
Corey Lewandowski, Trump’s former campaign manager, confirmed on Thursday that there are other political priorities under a front seat for the upcoming government.
“I think if you had to get up, in a chronological order, the swamp, probably somewhere at the bottom, in contrast to getting tax reform done , so that you can be sure that middle-class people will have more jobs, that we renegotiate our bad trade deals,” he told “Fox & Friends”. “At the end of the day, it comes to the economy.”
The comments come after the former speaker of the house Newt Gingrich told NPR that Trump the “rejects” of the expression ” and “now says it was nice, but he doesn’t want to use it.”
Trump aides, though, say that he remains committed to his underlying swamp-draining measures, such as the ban on outgoing Trump transition and management members from lobbying for five years. Trump bans all lobbyists from joining his transition team or the administration, unless you de-register.
“President-elect Trump’s ethics reform policy of full speed ahead,” transition spokesman Jason Miller said. “We are changing the way businesses work in Washington and begin, the American people first.”
But to open Lewandowski’s decision, a consulting business, only a block from the White house shows that insiders continue to play a role in the Trump administration.
Lewandowski, who is their ties to Trump, how to Trump was the first campaign manager, and the former trump adviser Barry Bennett, have become a government relations and political consulting and pitching to customers.
The move drew some criticism. Meredith McGehee, chief of policy, programs and strategies on the reform of the state-group, Problem, told the Associated Press, the movement is not “business as usual”.”
Lewandowski defended his new role Thursday, told Fox News that he wants only to be helpful in promoting the agenda of the economic Trump to help, while the company as a “resource”, want a quick answer and not a “long maybe” from the government.
“I’m not going to but a lobbyist,” he said.
Lewandowski has years of a fixed size in the Trump Tower in New York as President-elect forms his government. But since he never had an official transition of title, he is not in conflict Trump the prohibition on the transfer of the officials go to the lobby in the government.
