The State wins award for best Dutch album
The album O of The State has the 3voor12 Award 2016 won and is thereby elected as the best Dutch album of the past year.
It is the second time that The State wins the prize. In 2009 was their debut album Wait for Evolution winning. That was never in the thirteen years that the 3voor12 Award by now.
The jury, consisting of among others, Typhoon, Laidback Luke and Sue The Night, chose after a long deliberation by The State for the second time as the winner, because the band “through the years leading and willfully remained”.
In August, there was much commotion in the Netherlands to the Nijmegen-based rock band, which over the next four years, almost a million euro grant is awarded.
The band gave to the criticism of “fine”. “It is a position that you can have,” said singer Torre Florim at Giel Beelen on 3FM. “There are also many people who have nothing to do with football, but where a football club from the fire is helped by a municipality, or a road that will be widened for people who do not drive.”
The winner of the 3voor13 Award is Thursday night published in Paradiso Noord in Amsterdam.
