“Give me my glasses. I go inside. I’m not afraid of no shark,” Shaq, 46, told his comedian co-star Rob Riggle when he was in the custom cage.
“You have to be a little afraid, but that’s ok,” Riggle suggested. “You have this, Shaq. All day — all day.”

“He hesitated at first, but as soon as he saw the other divers and the camera guys in the water, “he said,” If those guys do it, I’ll do it, ” he said, and he went down,” Packer told the New York Post. “He said,” Let’s get down there and see what happens.'”
The crew was shocked when the shark managed to break into the big cage with the frightened NBA star. According to the Post, that has not happened in 30 years — since “Shark Week” first broadcast in July 1988.
“The space between the [cage] bars was different than the normal and the shark was able to move around in the cage,” Packer explained. “Shaq has not moved that quickly because he is in the NBA.”
