Wisconsin Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin’s campaign, which received on Thursday, Fans are invited to a fundraiser next month with the two lawyers Kavanaugh Prosecutor Christine Blasey Ford, after an invitation from Fox News — cancel only abruptly, these plans, after it was open to the public.
The two attorneys Debra Katz and Lisa banks, have been in the news of the endorsement on Ford’s behalf and negotiations with Senate Republicans about Ford, whether to testify on their allegations. The candidacy was denied sexually Ford attacked in high school.
“Please visit Debra Katz and Lisa banks and the end of citizens United for Cocktails and conversation with U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI), to read in order to support the re-election campaign,” the invitation, the Fox News received from two separate sources.
But the Baldwin campaign, told Fox News that Katz and the banks are no longer “involved in the event,” said the fundraiser was planned before Ford made the allegations.
The fundraiser, according to the load, is planned for the night of Oct. 1 in the Dupont Circle area of Washington DC
It asks for a $1,000 donation to the “host” to attend the event, $500 to “co-host”,” $250, as a “friend” or $100 to come out as “supporters.” The invitation said it was paid for by Tammy Baldwin for Senate.
“Your support for Tammy’s campaign was very nice and we really appreciate the help,” the invitation reads. “We are quickly in the last weeks is approaching and we could use your help.”
Katz and the banks did not return a request for comment.
Baldwin’s Republican opponent, Leah Vukmir, sent in a statement to Fox News, before it was clear the lawyers retreated, called the fundraising campaign “despicable.”
“The reprehensible way, Senator Baldwin, the meeting against judge Kavanaugh, within 48 hours of his nomination, and refused with him to be with a political fundraiser with the lawyers of Dr. Ford who is now accused him of sexual assault,” Vukmir said. “Baldwin and her democratic colleagues and fundraise from any situation, even the most striking.”
In a letter to the Senate-Republicans on Wednesday, Katz and banks, said, “Dr. Ford was reluctantly thrust into the public spotlight only two days. It is not currently able to go home, and receives ongoing threats to her and her family to safety.”
